SSW Director Dr. Mark Biesinger recently spent a week in La Croisic, France sharing his X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) expertise with approximately 70 students and researchers from around the world at the “2022 Ecole Thematique XPS Analysis Workshop: From Measurements to Scientific Answers”.
This highly regarded workshop, held every three years, features instructors with internationally recognized expertise in all aspects of XPS analysis, from the software used to the most nuanced analysis and post-processing procedures. Dr. Biesinger, who also shares his extensive XPS knowledge via the “X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) Reference Pages”, presented to both novice and advanced XPS users on oxide chemistry analysis, transition metal chemistry analysis, advancing the use of X-ray derived Auger spectra, and the intricacies of analyzing carbon-based materials.
